What is Life Coaching?
Coaching is a good fit for clients who are looking for guidance and motivation. In our coaching sessions, we will not analyze the past, instead, we will look toward the future to identify the steps required for you to reach your personal and professional goals. Coaches identify goals, examine patterns, ask questions, listen for excuses, ask for actions, and enforce commitments. As your Life Coach, we will work closely together to map out a game plan for creating what you want in your life. Throughout the process, I will guide you to create action plans, help you understand what holds you back, and motivate you to move forward.
Difference Between Life Coaching and Therapy
As an MSW, I am a trained psychotherapist, which makes me more effective as your life coach. Therapy focuses on pathology and unresolved issues from the past. Coaching, on the other hand, begins with the present and assists clients in setting very clear and specific goals. While the past may be discussed on occasion, it is addressed only in the context of discovering what is preventing you from moving forward. The focus is always on taking action and moving toward your goals.
